Getting Ahead Curriculum Training
We are looking for 15 individuals who fit the following criteria:
Richmond County Residents
18 years of age or older
Currently unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week
Net Income below the Federal Poverty Guidelines (usually receiving or qualifies for government assistance) or paying more than 35% of their income for housing
The Getting AHEAD curriculum is comprised of 10 modules with the assistance of a facilitator. Participants are seen as problem solvers, so no one decides anything for them. Many other programs dictate what participants have to do, so this makes Getting AHEAD different. The Getting AHEAD curriculum alone requires a four month commitment, and participants will be expected to attend all sessions (spend 3 hours a week for 20 weeks working together). In addition to the curriculum sessions, participants will participate in Lunch-N-Learn sessions, receive case management and referrals to other programs that can assist them in other areas of their life.
