Position Description:

The Communications Coordinator, under the direction or supervision of the TPP Project Director/Executive Director will work with appropriate staff to develop and implement communications strategies with APC’s key constituencies.  His/her primary responsibilities are in:   

  • Marketing and communication (print materials, electronic/news media, media relations) and other requested duties in an effort to promote a positive public image and advance APC’s efforts to secure needed resources
  • Collaborating with others in the organization to achieve brand consistency and to coordinate messages of the highest standards
  • Coordinating organization-wide design, message and content generation including electronic and print communications
  • Creating and managing the organization-wide communications calendar


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in marketing, English/Journalism or a related field
  • Demonstrated high level of expertise with technology using a multitude of platforms to inform and drive communication including but not limited to press releases, desktop publishing, basic graphics, social media and web and print designs via Photoshop  
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple individuals and manage several projects at once
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of ever changing environments and communication needs and to respond effectively and professionally
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently, verbally and in written English
  • Must possess creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with Windows and MAC operating systems, HTML, Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Spanish speaking is desired
